The varied freight rosters of the St.Louis - San Francisco Railway (Frisco) and the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad (Katy) are reviewed in full color in more than 300 photographs. There's even a handful of passenger cars used jointly by these fallen flags.

From the mid-Fifties until the end of independent existence, the Frisco operated its main lines as fast freight properties, while the various branches and lighter-traffic lines were judiciously employed to feed the mains. Motive power purchases are outlined in roster form in this new 128-page all-color book, and operating practices over the diesel years are noted in photo captions and comments throughout.
