With your help, we’re delighted to say that last month we passed a significant milestone with the restoration of Reading 2100. Thanks to your donations, over 550 staybolts were welded into the firebox of the locomotive. In this video update, Jason Johnson of Gemini Industrial Machine explains the welding process. January 2020 Restoration Update

– Removal of the brake stand and other items attached to the cab floor. This is the first step in creating a new floor that will allow the stoker auger to be linked through the firebox door. -The continued removal of the tender brackets that are no longer needed. -The stoker auger U-bolts were removed.
