The
Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board recently elected San Francisco
Supervisor Sean Elsbernd chairman and San Mateo County Supervisor Mark
Church, vice chairman.
Elsbernd represents the city and county of San Francisco, and Church
represents the transit district on the board, which owns and operates Caltrain.
In addition, the board swore in San Carlos Vice Mayor Omar Ahmad as a
member. He also represents the transit district on the board.
Meanwhile, the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) has elected San Jose council member Sam Liccardo chairman and Mountain View council member Margaret Abe-Koga, vice chairman.
Liccardo has served on VTA’s board since 2007 and was vice chairman
last year. A newly appointed VTA board member, Abe-Koga has served as
chair and vice chair of VTA’s Policy Advisory Committee since 2007.
VTA also installed the following new board members: Sunnyvale Vice
Mayor Chris Moylan; Los Altos Hills council member Rich Larsen; Santa
Clara council member Jamie Matthews (alternate); Saratoga council
member Chuck Page; Gilroy council member Perry Woodward; and Milpitas
Vice Mayor Pete McHugh (alternate).
The Regional Transportation District (RTD) of Denver
recently elected officers, too. The agency will install Lee Kemp as
chairman; Chris Martinez as fist vice chair; Noel Busck as second vice
chair; Kent Bagley as secretary; and John Tayer as treasurer. Kemp, who
joined RTD’s board in 2004, will serve his third-straight term as
chairman.
