NJ Transit seeks proposals for Wi-Fi network

NJ Transit
is seeking a company to provide of wireless broadband (Wi-Fi) Internet
services at rail stations and onboard trains, and has issued a request
for proposals from qualified firms.
A Wi-Fi network would allow access to most Internet applications,
including web browsing, email, Virtual Private Network applications,
file uploads and downloads, and video and audio streaming.
The selected firm will be responsible for system design and
architecture, including a list of materials, software, functionality of
each module and all connections between system components, as well as an
implementation schedule, NJ Transit officials said in a prepared
statement.
